Details of incidents attended by Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service At 4.01am, a crew from Luton were called to a fire in a rear garden involving timber. Firefighters used a hose reel jet, stack drag and thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
At 8.34am, crews from Dunstable and Kempston were called to a Chinese Water Deer in the water at a golf club in Dunstable Road, Toddington. Firefighters used an animal rescue pole to rescue the deer.
At 11.26am, a crew from Luton were called to a bonfire that had spread to a neighbouring shed in Blundell Road, Luton. Firefighters used a hose reel jet and stack drags to extinguish the fire.
At 12.13pm, a crew from Luton were called to a large bonfire consisting of household rubbish in a rear garden in Runley Road, Luton. Firefighters used a hose reel jet and stack drags to extinguish the fire.
At 6.48pm, crews from Bedford, Biggleswade, Kempston, Sandy and Shefford were called to a fire consisting of approximately 3 hectares of standing crop in Budna Road, Northill. Firefighters used hose reel jets, high pressure fogging lances, beaters and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire was deliberate. At 6.52pm, a crew from Bedford were called to a small fire on open ground near to the River Great Ouse in Bedford.
Firefighters used buckets of water to extinguish the fire. At 10.23pm, crew from Biggleswade and Sandy were called to a large rubbish fire on open ground in Barford Road, Little Barford.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was deliberate.
