The family of a “incredibly special” woman who died in a road traffic collision near Broom have paid tribute to her.Marian Bicknell, known as Maz, died at the scene on the B658 on Sunday (28 June). Paying tribute to the 55-year-old, her family said: “Maz was an incredibly special person, so bright and intelligent.
“She was full of life, laughter, love and kindness. “Maz was beautiful on the inside and out.
Her smile contagious. “Maz was so caring and will be sorely missed forever by everyone who was blessed to know her”.
The family have asked to be given privacy as they grieve. Officers investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Emergency services were called just after 8.30pm to reports of a collision on the B658 southbound carriageway involving a black and red Aprilia motorcycle and a pedestrian. The rider of the motorcycle – a man in his 20s – was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.
Detective Constable Kevin Drury from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who has died at this incredibly difficult time. “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, or in the moments leading up to it, to get in touch.
Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could help with our enquiries. “We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage that could assist our investigation.” Anyone with information is asked to report online or call 101, quoting reference 531 of 28 June or Operation Utah.
