Serving officer dismissed following misconduct hearing – Nottingham

A serving British Transport Police officer has been dismissed without notice from the Force following a public misconduct hearing. PC Anil Chutte attended the hearing, which was held in York between 23 and 26 June, where he answered allegations that he breached the standards of professional behaviour.

A number of allegations were found proven by the Independent Panel which related to PC Chutte taking and retaining a BTP vehicle without permission, or a legitimate policing purpose, between 16 May 2025 and 4 September 2025. These included: The Independent Panel found his actions amounted to gross misconduct and he was dismissed from the force without notice.

The full report is available here. Detective Superintendent Brett Walker said: "For over three months PC Chutte blatantly and deliberately misused a police vehicle without authorisation and for his own personal use, which is wholly unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of integrity.

Police officers are expected to act with honesty and integrity at all times and when they fail to meet these standards, it undermines the trust and confidence that the public rightly place in policing. I support the decision of the Panel to dismiss PC Chutte with immediate effect.” Share
