Roads policing officers intercepted a van containing a stolen quadbike and made two arrests. The Ford Transit was stopped in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area after it aroused the suspicions of the police.

Having pulled the vehicle over on the A617 Sherwood Way South, Road Crime Team and Roads Policing Unit officers proceeded to search it. Police subsequently found a Yamaha quadbike in the back of the van, following the stop at 5.30pm on Tuesday (30 June).

Believing it to have been stolen, police arrested the van's occupants – a 26-year man and a 27-year-old man – on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Detective Inspector Jamie Moore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The officers involved in this incident, namely from the Road Crime Team and Roads Policing Unit, did a great job tracking and stopping this van.

"Those actions ultimately resulted in us arresting two suspects and discovering a quadbike on board which we strongly suspect had been stolen. "Inquiries are currently ongoing to try and trace the quadbike's owner so that it can be returned to them." Share
