Two police officers have been recognised by a Herts domestic abuse charity for their outstanding work protecting a vulnerable woman in a high-risk case involving coercive and controlling behaviour. Detective Sergeant Becky Lewis and Detective Constable Mollie Lippard, from the Domestic Abuse Investigation and Safeguarding Unit (DAISU), were nominated for their dedication in working closely with the victim and her family to uncover hidden, escalating abuse that put her life in danger.

Their efforts were recognised at Future Living’s Annual Impact Celebration in Hertford, where they received a special award celebrating exceptional professionalism in tackling domestic abuse. Future Living supports victims and survivors and works closely with police, providing lived-experience training to improve responses to domestic abuse, coercive control and stalking.

Detective Inspector Georgie Fenge said the officers showed “tenacity” in building a case despite significant challenges, ultimately leading to a safe arrest without putting the victim, public or officers at risk. Future Living CEO Emma Fleming added: "These officers showed the compassion, professionalism and determination that survivors of domestic abuse need and deserve.

Their work helped a vulnerable woman feel heard, believed and protected, and is a powerful example of trauma-informed policing at its best." Share
