Lincolnshire Burglar Sentenced to Over Seven Years for Multiple Offences

A prolific burglar who targeted homes across Lincolnshire and stole vehicles from victims' driveways has been jailed following an investigation linking him to a series of offences.Ethan Taylor, 26, Aylestone Lane, Wigston, Leicestershire, has been sentenced to seven years and eight months after pleading guilty to 23 offences including burglary, attempted burglary and theft. The offences took place between January 2025 and September 2025, with many following a similar pattern. Taylor would enter properties and steal car keys before taking vehicles parked outside.

In several cases, victims were asleep in their homes when the offences took place.Over the course of his offending, Taylor targeted homes in Grantham, Stamford, Bourne, Deeping St James and Sleaford. The crimes caused significant distress to those affected, who not only lost valuable possessions but also experienced the violation of having their homes entered by a stranger. As part of the investigation, detectives gathered CCTV footage and other evidence that enabled them to identify and link Tayor to the offences.

He was subsequently arrested and charged. Detective Constable Jack McGhee, of Lincolnshire Police's CID, said: "This is a significant sentence for a prolific offender whose actions had a considerable impact on victims across Lincolnshire.

"Burglary is an intrusive crime that can leave lasting effects on those affected. People should be able to feel secure in their own homes, and offences of this nature can undermine that sense of safety.

"This result reflects the dedication and hard work of the officers and staff involved in the investigation. Through detailed enquiries and careful examination of the evidence, we were able to build a strong case and bring him before the courts.

"We're pleased to see justice delivered for the victims of these offences. "We will continue to pursue those who commit burglary and other crimes and do everything we can to protect our communities." Share
