Officers are investigating a report of rape which is reported to have taken place in Haslemere between 10.30pm on Tuesday, 23 June and 1am Wednesday, 24 June. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim is being supported by specialist officers as we work to establish the circumstances of this incident. As part of ongoing enquiries, which include the review of CCTV footage, officers have identified two people they believe may be potential witnesses and who may be able to assist the investigation. We would like to speak to two White women, believed to be in their early 20s, who were travelling together on a service on the Portsmouth Direct Line.

They were seen speaking with another passenger on the train before alighting at Liss railway station in Hampshire at around midnight. One woman had brown hair and was wearing a black skirt, a denim jacket, and sunglasses on her head, and was carrying a tote bag.

The second woman had blonde hair and was wearing a white midi dress with a brown backpack. Officers believe these women may have information relevant to the circumstances of this report.A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of rape and has since been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.

As part of his conditions, he is restricted from entering Haslemere.Detective Inspector Simon Driver, who is investigating the report said: "Our enquiries have been ongoing since the report was received and have included extensive CCTV reviews, witness enquiries and work to establish a clearer picture of the movements of those in the area at the time.鈥淭hrough these enquiries, we have identified two potential witnesses who we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

We believe they may hold information that could assist us in understanding the circumstances surrounding the report. I would like to make it clear that these individuals are not suspected of any criminality."Our enquiries are continuing, and we are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in or around the Haslemere area between 10.30pm on Tuesday, 23 June and 1am on Wednesday, 24 June."We would particularly like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the junction of Weydown Road and Wey Hill during this time.

We are also asking anyone with dashcam, doorbell or other footage from the area to check whether they captured anything that could assist our enquiries."Our investigation remains ongoing while we follow all lines of enquiry. If you have any information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, please contact us."Anyone with information is asked to contact us via direct message or through our website, quoting reference PR/45260074829.If you do not wish to leave your name, please call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit their website.
