Nottinghamshire colleagues recently provided medical support to children with life changing and terminal illnesses on a visit to Lapland to see Santa and his reindeers. Clinical Team Mentor Cherylene Camps, Paramedic Team Leader Mike Spencer, Technician Dave Seaton and Karl Bexon from the Air Ambulance, accompanied the children and their families during the trip, which is organised by the children's charity 'When you wish upon a star'.

Cherylene has worked with the charity and taken part in the trip for nine years. She said: “It’s a privilege to support these families, and give them reassurance and a break during such difficult times.

Even in -24c temperatures I get a heart warming feeling seeing these children with smiles on their faces. Being able to help build everlasting memories for their families puts your life into perspective.” The trip to Lapland was featured on the BBC Songs of Praise.
