Man Charged with Serious Assault in Welwyn Garden City

A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Welwyn Garden City. Louis Pomeroy, aged 27, of Broadwater Crescent, Welwyn Garden City, has been charged with GBH with intent, wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday 30 June) where he was remanded into custody. He will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on 28 July.

The assault happened between 9.22pm and 9.34pm on Friday (26 June) in Howardsgate, near to Postino Lounge. It is reported that three men were involved in an altercation.

Two of the men, both aged 24, sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment. Both are in a stable condition, and a knife has been recovered.
