People in the East Midlands will benefit from additional investment to permanently grow the number of ambulances and crews available to respond to emergency calls. A Leicestershire Community First Responder has been reunited with the crews who helped save his life after he suffered a cardiac arrest in January 2026.
East Midlands Ambulance Service are undertaking a small clinical trial to test a new way of managing pain for children and young people. Anne, who had spent more than 30 years helping others in emergencies, suddenly became the person needing help herself.
On the evening of Wednesday 5 February 2026, 19-year-old Elli Jordan went into labour at her home while 37 weeks pregnant, despite being scheduled for a planned caesarean a few weeks later.
